It takes a special class to raise an actor. I have personally seen many a young talented kid actors get sidelined from their dream because their parents did not have the proper education of the process. I love coaching kids and I believe they have their child’s best interests at heart, but with lack of education in the acting field, a parent can derail their child before they even get started.

If you want to develop acting as a part-time hobby or just like any game to which kid students are exposed in their school then it’s okay. However, even then a proper training to excel in community or school plays is necessary for your kid’s motivation and public applaud to be positive and successful in life. Remember, we all act in our life interacting with situations and people to meet our objectives. After all, life is a stage!

However, if you have observed your kid’s early symptoms like mimicking or acting funny, fun loving and outgoing, dancing or singing, fearlessness on the school stage, eager to participate in school’s cultural activities and you are serious about your kid’s acting craft and a possible future in this field, then read this tip carefully.

The Single Factor

Training

If the actor is not properly trained, they are not an actor. Acting is fun, but it is not a part-time hobby. If your child is serious about pursuing this field, you must cultivate a mindset, as one would do when becoming a professional musician, athlete, or dancer. Your child must train continually in order to stay competitive and most importantly cultivate the understanding of the entire process. When a child is in school sports, parents are diligent about never missing practices or games. However, when it comes to their acting classes, many parents do not attach the same discipline. They find the money to invest in other activities, but fall short when it comes to paying for artistic training. Do your research. A great acting coach or a class will enhance every area of their life.
