How Can You Help Your Child To Be An Actor

Are You Serious In Helping You Child To Be An Actor?

If Yes, Then You MUST Plan And Schedule Your Time For Your Child Either Daily Or In A Week

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Games and Exercises You Can Create As Parents To Make Your Child A Good Actor

1. Reading lots of Imaginary and Inspirational stories

Encourage to tell stories in front of you, family, parties, social gatherings, school's cultural shows etc

2. Word game

  • On a piece of paper write down 5 to 10 random names in big letters with space like the window, blue. dinner, train, cold, angry etc
  • Let the child sit with the paper in a comfortable position, close eyes, relax, concentrate and keep his/her finger on any of the names you have written. Open eyes, see the name. Give the child 2 to 5 minutes in silence and let him/her think of a situation, a story, an experience related to that word.
  • Let the kid stand up and tell the created scene, story related to that word. For example on word Blue- 'I had been to John's beach house and played on the nearby beach. The waters were blue. I like the blue of the sea....."
  • The kid must narrate the story enacting the scene

3. Observation

  • Set aside a time in daily or in a week for observation
  • Let the kid start observing keenly the things in his/ her home like items, people visiting, family members
  • Then his friends, neighbors, school, especially her/his class teachers (some teachers are worth mimicking and the kids love to copy).
  • Take your time out from your busy schedule and visit children parks, garden, zoo, museum with your child. Let him/her observe people, animals, pictures, paintings etc
  • Let the child show/ mimic observed characters (people, animals, things, gestures, walk, voice etc) to you or to a party, picnic
  • Go on appreciating the performance with high applause

4. Transformation

  • Let him/her observe people/ Items

Play a scene
Let the child transform his/ her observed item into something weird like a young girl into a wicked witch, a simple toy into a prince or into a castle, a pencil into a car etc.

  • Weird movements

Let the child walk, speak weirdly, physically contract into the smallest Ant or largest like a Dinosaur. Let the child  or change into floating as if on water, fly like a bird, become a flower, change into a spider etc

  • Playing a character game

Let the child enter into a party scene.
The moment your kid enters, the host shouts "Wow, here comes Robinson Crusoe" or " Mouse" or "Leonardo de Caprio" or any celebrity other children are familiar with.
Now the entered guest (your kid) has to transform into that introduced character for say 5 minutes (or for a pre-decided time). Practice this scene regularly with different characters. This is a very good practical game and learning exercise.
